What customers value most about our products

Customers were asked to rank seven product attributes. All-natural ingredients and high quality finish a clear first and second, with Made in Ireland in third. Accessible price ranks last — a strong signal that our audience comes to us for craft and integrity, not for cheapness. This shapes how we should talk about ourselves: lead with the ingredients, the care and the place; let value follow.

Where customers first heard about us

Half of all customers discovered Wexford Home Preserves on a supermarket shelf — a tribute to the visual identity of the jar and the trust customers place in the brands their grocer stocks. A further 27% came through a personal recommendation, the most valuable form of marketing there is and a direct reflection of customer satisfaction. Together these two channels account for more than three-quarters of all awareness.

86% of customers say “local” is extremely or very important to them, including more than half who place it at the very top. This is a foundational result for a brand built in Wexford — and a clear instruction to keep our locality and provenance visible in every part of how we present ourselves.

Our customer base — by household type

57% of customers describe themselves as rural (family, couple or individual) and the remainder are urban — almost no single-person households at all. This is a customer base of households who cook together and who eat at home with others, which aligns perfectly with how preserves are consumed and shared.

Question 8

Where our customers get their information

Customers rely on a mixed media diet. Facebook (55%) and TV (45%) are the two largest channels, followed by national radio (36%) and Instagram (32%). Print and magazines are smaller but not negligible. A practical implication: investing in Facebook content — including local recipe-led storytelling — is well aligned with where our audience already pays attention.
