Glow up your Christmas Ham (or any ham for that matter – this works fabulous for bacon too!) with Wexford Home Preserves Luxury Orange and Honey Ham Glaze

Ingredients:

  • 1.4 kg (3 lbs) boneless ham/gammon joint unsmoked
  • 1 large onion sliced in quarters
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teasp black peppercorns
  • 2 carrots 2 celery
  • Herbs such as thyme parsley
  • Garlic
  • Cloves for decoration (optional)
  • 1 jar of Wexford Home Preserves Luxury Orange and Honey Ham Glaze

Instructions:

  1. Place the gammon in a large pan and cover it in cold water.
  2. Add the onion, veg, bay leaves, herbs and peppercorns.
  3. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and cook for 20 mins per pound. Mine took 60 mins.
  4. Remove the gammon from the pan and leave to cool for 10 minutes.
  5. Using a sharp knife, carefully remove the skin from the ham joint. Leave as much of the fat as possible behind.
  6. Score the fat in diamond patterns using a sharp knife. Add cloves.
  7. Preheat the oven to 200c(fan) and line a baking tray with foil or use a skillet pan.
  8. Pop Wexford Home Preserves Luxury Orange and Honey Ham Glaze jar in the microwave for 10-20 seconds just to loosen.
  9. Spoon 3/4 of the mixture on top of the ham.
  10. Place in the oven and cook for 20-25 mins. Add the remaining glaze and continue cooking for another 20 mins.

Enjoy!
