News from Wexford Home PreservesChristmas FareChristmas is fast approaching and everyone seems to be getting prepared early this year baking cakes, puddings, pies etc.. Our favourite time of year when we are busy making Brandy Butter, Cranberry Sauce and our new product for this year is mincemeat. Yum! The lovely smells are really getting us in the Christmas spirit. Our Christmas gift sets and hampers are flying out the door as more people seem to be buying local this year. A Brand New Member of the Wexford Home Preserves team.Baby Lila Sinnott was born on the 3rd of September 2011, she was very impatient and arrived three weeks before her due date. Her dad is already trying to get her to hold a wooden spoon!!
A busy Summer.Summer time for Wexford Home Preserves was the busiest ever, we now have a number of new employees to keep the wheels turning. It was great to see all of the familiar faces at the Bannow Rathangan show again this year, lovely to meet some of our Wexford customers. Breaking NewsDermot O' Leary's Sweet Tooth RevealedOn a recent visit to one of Wexford's oldest and finest tourist attractions, The Hook Lighthouse, TV Presenter Dermot O' Leary bought some Wexford Home Preserves. Lets hope he enjoys it! Dermot is a supporter of locally handmade produce as he proved late last year when after an on air a row with Louis Walsh on X Factor, the two made up over a block of Wexford Vintage Cheddar. Dermot has strong connections with Wexford and it is great that he supports the local producers. We would like to wish all of our customers a very Happy Christmas from all the Wexford Home Preserves team. Due to an increasing interest and enquiries from people in the Munster area John is distributing to a wide variety of local supermarkets, butchers shops and delicatessens. Good Luck to Fresh Fields GoreyWexford Preserves are now available to buy in Fresh Fields Gorey, a great new shop offering fresh fruit, veg, breads, organic produce and tasty treats. Why not drop in and check out what they have to offer. National Ploughing ChampionshipsWe put on the wellies this year and went to athy to exhibit our jams and marmalades at the National Ploughing Championships. It was lovely to meet some of our loyal customers and have a chat and indeed meet some potential new customers. There was a great atmosphere in the Leader Food Village where we were exhibiting even the rain and mud didn't seem to dampen spirits. We look forward to next year's Ploughing, we'll see you there!! Best of Irish Food FairWe were at the Best Of Irish Food Fair in Caulfield's Supervalu in Waterford City last month. A great crowd turned out to have a taste of the Best Of Irish. It was nice to meet some of our customers and have a chat. Kevin Dundon also showcased some of his favourite dishes that night. Wexford Food FairWe attended the Wexford Food Fair in Whites Hotel recently. This event was a great success. Food producers from all over the county were there to display their produce and let everyone have a taste of what they had to offer. I'm sure everyone who attended will agree that there was a great display of what Wexford as a county can offer. Mouthwatering Strawberries and cream, delicious homemade brown bread smeared with Wexford Preserves, bacon, sausages, thai food, dairy products such as Wexford cream and Killowen Yoghurts, fruit juices and of course yummy cakes and desserts. The highlight of the night was a cooking demonstration by Neven Maguire and Phelim Byrne. A Busy SummerSummer is here and we are busy bees here at Wexford Preserves. We will be out and about doing promotions and tastings all over the country so watch out for us in a supermarket near you! We will be attending the Strawberry Fair again this year in Enniscorthy, it was a great weekend last year with something for all the family. We are really looking forward to it this year as I am sure it will be bigger and better than ever. Lets keep our fingers crossed for some sunshine too. FBD And New Ross Chamber of Commerce AwardsThis must be our lucky year! Wexford Preserves were finalists in the FBD And New Ross Chamber of Commerce Business Awards. This fantastic black tie affair was held in the Brandon House in New Ross and a great night was had by all.
