Christmas Fare

Christmas is fast approaching and everyone seems to be getting prepared early this year baking cakes, puddings, pies etc.. Our favourite time of year when we are busy making Brandy Butter, Cranberry Sauce and our new product for this year is mincemeat. Yum! The lovely smells are really getting us in the Christmas spirit. Our Christmas gift sets and hampers are flying out the door as more people seem to be buying local this year.

A Brand New Member of the Wexford Home Preserves team.

Baby Lila Sinnott was born on the 3rd of September 2011, she was very impatient and arrived three weeks before her due date. Her dad is already trying to get her to hold a wooden spoon!!

A busy Summer.

Summer time for Wexford Home Preserves was the busiest ever, we now have a number of new employees to keep the wheels turning. It was great to see all of the familiar faces at the Bannow Rathangan show again this year, lovely to meet some of our Wexford customers.

Dermot O' Leary's Sweet Tooth Revealed

On a recent visit to one of Wexford's oldest and finest tourist attractions, The Hook Lighthouse, TV Presenter Dermot O' Leary bought some Wexford Home Preserves. Lets hope he enjoys it!

Dermot is a supporter of locally handmade produce as he proved late last year when after an on air a row with Louis Walsh on X Factor, the two made up over a block of Wexford Vintage Cheddar. Dermot has strong connections with Wexford and it is great that he supports the local producers.

Wexford Home Preserves available in Cork and Kerry.

Thanks to a new member of the Wexford Home Preserves team, John Sinnott, our products are widely available in Cork and Kerry and the Munster area. Due to an increasing interest and enquiries from people in the Munster area John is distributing to a wide variety of local supermarkets, butchers shops and delicatessens.

National Ploughing Championships

We put on the wellies this year and went to athy to exhibit our jams and marmalades at the National Ploughing Championships. It was lovely to meet some of our loyal customers and have a chat and indeed meet some potential new customers. There was a great atmosphere in the Leader Food Village where we were exhibiting even the rain and mud didn't seem to dampen spirits. We look forward to next year's Ploughing, we'll see you there!!

Best of Irish Food Fair

We were at the Best Of Irish Food Fair in Caulfield's Supervalu in Waterford City last month. A great crowd turned out to have a taste of the Best Of Irish. It was nice to meet some of our customers and have a chat. Kevin Dundon also showcased some of his favourite dishes that night.

Wexford Food Fair

We attended the Wexford Food Fair in Whites Hotel recently. This event was a great success. Food producers from all over the county were there to display their produce and let everyone have a taste of what they had to offer. I'm sure everyone who attended will agree that there was a great display of what Wexford as a county can offer. Mouthwatering Strawberries and cream, delicious homemade brown bread smeared with Wexford Preserves, bacon, sausages, thai food, dairy products such as Wexford cream and Killowen Yoghurts, fruit juices and of course yummy cakes and desserts. The highlight of the night was a cooking demonstration by Neven Maguire and Phelim Byrne.

A Busy Summer

Summer is here and we are busy bees here at Wexford Preserves. We will be out and about doing promotions and tastings all over the country so watch out for us in a supermarket near you!

We will be attending the Strawberry Fair again this year in Enniscorthy, it was a great weekend last year with something for all the family. We are really looking forward to it this year as I am sure it will be bigger and better than ever. Lets keep our fingers crossed for some sunshine too.

FBD And New Ross Chamber of Commerce Awards

This must be our lucky year! Wexford Preserves were finalists in the FBD And New Ross Chamber of Commerce Business Awards. This fantastic black tie affair was held in the Brandon House in New Ross and a great night was had by all.

Wexford Home Preserves welcomes Dunnes Stores                

We are delighted to announce that you can now find your favourite Wexford Home Preserves Jam or Marmalade at your nearest Dunnes Stores in the South East region. We are now supplying Dunnes Stores in Redmond Square Wexford, Gorey, City Square Waterford, Dungarvan Shopping Centre, Kieran Street and MacDonagh Junction in Kilkenny.

SFA National Small Business Awards 2010 "Finalists"                                 

We are very excited to announce that Wexford Preserves has succeeded as finalists in the SFA National Small Business Awards 2010. All category winners and the overall winner will be presented with their awards by An Taoiseach Brian Cowan T.D. on March 4th 2010.

Christmas Cooking Ideas

A unique way of glazing your Christmas Ham is coating it with our delicious orange or three fruit marmalade. This goes down a treat in our house. Already our new Cranberry Sauce is getting a great reaction and selling fast in the shops, so don't forget the perfect partner for you turkey this year.

Also you can't have Christmas Pudding without some brandy butter, handmade with Hennessy Brandy. Gorgeous!

Getting Ready For Christmas

We now have our range of Christmas Products on the shop shelves, these include, Brandy Butter and Cranberry Sauce. We also have a range of gift packs which would make an ideal Christmas Present.

Feel Better This Winter

The mornings are dark, there is a definite chill in the air. Everybody seems to be suffering from colds at the moment so warm up those cold evenings with a hot drink rich in vitamin c and which tastes lovely too. Check out our simple cold remedy on our recipes page. It only takes two minutes to make and then you can sit by the fire and enjoy it.

New Local Suppliers

The apple season has started and we are busy stocking up for the winter. It is great to get fresh, delicious bramleys locally grown from Ballycross Apple Farm in Bridgetown, Co. Wexford. Also with Greenhills Fruit Farms supply of fresh raspberries our raspberry jam is better than ever.

A Step Forward

Thanks to Heavey Technology Ltd. we have a new label printer here at Wexford Preserves which is making life a lot easier for all the gang.

A Great Day Out

We would like to thank everyone who took time to stop and taste our jam and marmalade last Friday. We had a stand in Moriarty's Supervalu, Skerries where everyone was having a great day promoting Irish Food Producers like ourselves. We were also giving out samples in O'Reilly's Supervalu in Bunclody and Caulfield's Supervalu in Waterford City. Overall a great day and a big thank you to everyone who stopped to have a chat and taste our Wexford Preserves.

We arre delighted to announce that Wexford Home Preserves is now available in Quish's Supervalu, Ballincollig, Cork City.

Wexford Home Preserves New Website Launched July 2009

We are delighted to announce the launch of our brand new website today and look forward to growing the site along with the business over the next few years.

The site was made by Cada Media Ltd who are based in Gorey and features:

• An interactive google map which will list directions to us from your location,
• A photo gallery which we will be adding to as we attend local fairs and so on,
• Unique irish recipes for you to use your favourite wexford preserves jams in,
• A list of our products which are growing every year
• Our 80+ Retailers throughout the South and South east of Ireland, from cork to tipperary!

Bannow Rathdangan Fair, Wexford

The weather held well for us last thursday at the local Bannow / Rathangan fair in Wexford where yours truly had a stall featuring our locally produced jams and marmalades.

Our traditional Irish Whiskey Marmalade was a popular choice amongst the crowds trying out our varieties of homemade jams and preserves.

These included: Orange Marmalade, Three Fruit Marmalade, Grapefruit Marmalade, Jams: Strawberry jam, Raspberry jam, Blackcurrant jam, Rhubarb and Ginger jam, Gooseberry jam, Blackberry and Apple jam to name a few!

Strawberry Fair Wexford

We had a great time at the infamous Wexford strawberry fair recently and were thrilled to get so many people visiting our stall and trying our 9 varieties of jams and marmalades. The day was a great success and we hope to see you all next year at this popular summer festival.
